Five ways to speed up the washing up!

Standard

If you don’t have a dishwasher or a helpful other half, there’s no reason why the washing-up should be a time consuming chore! Need to go old skool? Here’s how to do in minimum time…

Step 1 – Scrape

Scrape off as much food debris as you can. Give each dish a quick rinse before stacking at the side of the sink ready for washing.

Step 2 – Soak

Fill really grimey items such as pans with hot water and put them to one side to soak.

Step 3 – Clear
Make sure your sink is clean before you start. Using a plastic washing up bowl uses less water and helps to protect items from the sink’s hard surfaces. If you don’t have a double sink, the gap between the bowl and the sink means you can still use the hot tap for rinsing.
Step 4 – Rinse
Rinse each item in clean hot water as you go along and put it on a rack to drain.
Step 5 – Dry
Using a clean tea-towel, dry each item and put it away.
And relax….
